Songwriter-guitarist Jim Cash’s versatile approach to the acoustic and electric guitar lays the groundwork for Woven Green’s captivating and original sound. With a wide range of influences, from the melodic sensibilities of Carlos Santana to the psychedelic musings of John McLaughlin, a solid background in classical, fingerstyle, and rock guitar; Jim’s songs weave together many genres, resulting in a truly unique sound. Also a talented lyricist, Jim combines his versatile playing with inspired, relevant and poignant content.

Vocalist, Ashley Cash with her rich alto/mezzo-soprano, brings warmth and power to the songs of Woven Green. Inspired by such classic singers as Janis Joplin and Eva Cassidy, she seamlessly integrates rock, pop, gospel, and blues vocal styles to create a sound that is at once unique and uplifting. Ashley also plays accompanying rhythm acoustic and electric guitars, adding texture to the band’s sound.

Originally from Venezuela, Zujey D’Jesus came to the states in 2001 with an extensive background in Latin music. Fueled with an insatiable passion for the drums, Zujey artfully combines various styles of drumming such as rock, heavy metal, reggae, and latin. She is also a gifted vocalist and additionally contributes strong and tonally rich backing vocals. Zujey’s passion and musicianship provides the unifying pulse to Woven Green’s eclectic sound.

Not-your-typical bassist, Franz Kellner offers a progressive edge contributing melodic counterpoints, African rhythms, unison and harmony lines, and performances on both the fretted and fretless bass. Franz’s unique approach to the bass highlights the truly original sound of Woven Green.

 

 

FEATURING Violinist, Willard Morris who brings a dramatic element to the group. His performance on the five-string electric violin enables him to create low harmonies with the bass guitar and high harmony textures with the vocals. Willard is occasionally featured in Woven Green's live concerts.
